Lindsay Kovnat Bio

Lindsay Kovnat is a material and digital artist based in Weehawken NJ. She has a BFA in Animation. She paints in oil and acrylic as well as producing sculptures created with air-dry-clay, epoxy and found objects. Lindsay’s animated music video for Plastic Little won Best Experimental Short at the “Philadelphia Film Festival” and she was awarded First Place at the “SuperGirl themed 48-hour Film Festival” in Philadelphia PA.

“I currently work with and combine different digital and physical mediums. Stylistically and aesthetically my current practice is the result of the seemingly contradictory, but uniquely satisfying, merging of Fine Arts and animation training. Through my art I address social questions and offer insights on timely issues like feminine power and sustainability. I want my art to be empowering and remind people to take play seriously for a fuller life. The ideas explored in my art are as important as the visual impact.” - Lindsay Kovnat
