A one week pop-up featuring David Vega’s photos of “Wigstock” - an annual outdoor drag festival that began in 1984 in Manhattan's East Village that took place on Labor Day. Continuing, with a few gaps, until 2005, the festival would traditionally act as the unofficial end to the summer for the gay community of New York City.
All photos are silver gelatin prints from film negatives produced in David’s personal darkroom. Exclusive 8x10 silver gelatin prints available for $250. Take home a piece of NYC queer history!
