From the Artist:
"Life is a journey filled with a multitude of experiences. As we navigate through the years, it is inevitable that we will encounter moments of loss. There may come a day when we wake up and find ourselves surrounded by shattered pieces of our lives. Promises that were made, both by us and to us, may remain unfulfilled. It can seem as though chaos has taken over the world, leaving no one untouched. Is this the work of Evil? As a modern and agnostic person, I struggle with using this term, but it feels like the only way to describe the overwhelming sense of despair. It's as if we have regressed to the Middle Ages, but I cannot find a better word to capture the magnitude of the situation. However, in the midst of this brokenness, what truly matters is finding a way to move forward. My latest series of paintings entitled "Fixing It" explores the concept of re-centering, re-grounding, and re-evaluating our beliefs about what truly holds value in our lives. It is a reminder to piece together the broken fragments and find a new sense of wholeness. These paintings serve as a counter to the pervasive evil that seems to lurk in every corner, and a defense against the destructive nature of living in survival mode, which has become a permanent state for many. Through beauty, we can push back against the darkness and reclaim our sense of self. "Fixing It" invites the viewer to contemplate the beauty of regained wholeness where the scares of the process may be visible. It embraces the messiness of being alive." - Anna Pasztor
